A tale of two cities ... this week at Rontoms we bring you the countrified rock of Denver and Celilo.

Headlining the show the “Ramshackle All-Star Country Band” known as Denver fashions itself a sort of modern-day Highwaymen. Mike Elias, Tom Bevitori and Birger Olsen, the three chief songwriters, exchange vocal duties. The boys sing songs that drunkenly sway between lawless saloons and the lonesome country air.

Portland mainstay Celilo will be opening the show with cinematic songs that straddle the boundraries between indie rock, disco surf, psychedlia, and atmospheric new folk; a colorful banquet of dreamy soundscapes for the modern sunlit plain.

If weather permits, this Sunday may be the first outdoor show of the season (we'll let you know via our facebook page and twitter on the day of show). Inside or outside, it's going to be a seriously good time!
